Anyone can grow food in even the smallest of spaces - even potatoes!
“I’d never grown anything before, but I was spending so much money on salad leaves at the supermarket that I thought I’d give it a try.”
Between 2007-2010, Food Up Front ran the first urban food-growing network in the UK, supporting individuals to grow food in their unused outdoor space. Whether front gardens, balconies, windowsills or back gardens we encourage people to grow and share healthy, natural food. This helps to reduce food miles and dependency on supermarkets, whilst increasing self-reliance and community empowerment. For further information about our history please go to the About Us page of our website.
We devised the One Pot Pledge campaign which is being run by Garden Organic and has to date received pledges from over 29,000 people, as of Dec, 2011.
The individuals behind Capital Growth also remain active in promoting and growing food in urban areas and as a result we have lots of expertise in this area. If you are interested in our Team Events or Lunchtime Workshops or just want to get in touch please contact us.
